Judge Report : MTG Romania Nationals 2011
1After 9 days i post my report of Romanian nationals from the judge point of view.
The winner, Adrian Posoiu, is a BlackBorder article writer and he already posted his experience here.
This is my first Competitive (40k) REL event that i was judging. The head Judge, Mircea Pienar was flawless and thought me many lessons. He was also my mentor and test reviewer for my L1 Judge test.
Cum jucam Magic
0Cum jucam Magic: the Gathering ?
A. Constructed Block. In componenta deckului cu care jucam nu trebuie sa intre decat carti din cel mai recent block de 3 seturi care a fost lansat in toamna cea mai recenta (in general la 1 octombrie ). Pentru a ne folosi de un exemplu curent, concursurile de Block vor viza folosirea doar a cartilor din Blockul Scars of Mirrodin, Block care nu contine inca decat un singur set si anume omonimul Scars of Mirrodin, intrucat urmatoarele seturi se vor lansa in februarie respectiv aprilie anul viitor, seturi ce vor intregi pe rand totalitatea cartilor valabile in formatul Block.
GS Championship Report
0Although late, i found time to write my report of GS Championship 2010.
I predicted that the format will overwhelmed by Control decks, so i chose to play a Blue-Black Control with some changes.
The deck i played :
| Lands (25) 4 Creeping Tar Pit 4 Darkslick Shores 4 Drowned Catacomb 6 Island 3 Swamp 4 Tectonic Edge Removal/Filtering/Card Draw (17) 1 Disfigure 3 Doom Blade 1 Consuming Vapors 2 Into the Roil 3 Inquisition of Kozilek 4 Preordain 3 Jace’s Ingenuity Countermagic (10) 4 Mana Leak 1 Deprive 1 Cancel 1 Stoic Rebuttal 3 Mindbreak Trap PWS (6) 2 Jace Beleren 3 Jace, the Mind Sculptor 1 Sorin Markov Creatures (3) 1 Grave Titan 2 Sphinx of Jwar Isle | Sideboard: (15) 2 Disfigure 1 Dispel 2 Spell Pierce 3 Flashfreeze 1 Negate 2 Ratchet Bomb 2 Smother 2 Consume the Meek |
I wanted some more control, and counters, but not to lose focus on aggro decks.
What Can We Learn
0What Can We Learn
Post by Myclune » Thu Oct 28, 2010 3:03 pm
What can we learn from the new post rotation metagame? What has the demise of Jund and the best white removal in a long while ( Path to Exile and Oblivion Ring ) allowed to happen ? Can we compare this new rotation to the old one ( when 5 Color Control and Faeries rotated out ) in a relevant way ? And in an opposite side of the loss, how will Scars of Mirrodin shape the new Standard ?
Let’s try to answer these questions one by one.
